Model Biographies – The Truth About Beautiful Women

Now and then, a Supermodel will release a biography on her life story and it’s never a pretty tale. The most successful and beautiful women usually has a dramatic, sometimes tragic and often roller coaster ride of a life to share. What’s heart-warming and beautiful to read is these ladies’ courage to move on, will to survive and tenacity to learn.

They fall many times. Most often, they stumble more than any average person who is not a celebrity. With money, influence and the powerful people they mix around with, they’re subjected to an immense range of temptations that are easily obtainable to them as compared to the average Jane.

The fact that they are so beautiful also makes them prey to the rich and wealthy playboys who hardly think twice about considering their feelings. They are considered as fresh meat, mere playthings to own and discard.

So, is it really that fantastic to be beautiful, rich and famous?

Carre Otis, the Supermodel who found her fame in the 80s and 90s, ran away from home in rebellion. She found love in the arms of horrible, abusive men and was raped by her model agent. She suffered physical and verbal abuse for many years with a man who was supposed to love and care for her. Her addiction to hardcore drugs like Cocaine and Heroin destroyed her for a long time.

But she learned and moved on.

Janice Dickinson, was one of the first Supermodels. She was physically and emotionally abused by her father when she was younger and had to helplessly endure the fact that her father was sexually abusing one of her sisters. She is a tough cookie having battled alcoholism, drug abuse and a tortured childhood to come up on top.

How many of these fallen souls really learn and have the opportunity to pick up the pieces?

Gia Carangi, a great model in her time in the 80s, never got the opportunity. She died of AIDS at 26 years old. Addicted to Heroin, she never managed to escape the deadly drugs’ clutches which caused her a brilliant career ahead and eventually her life. Like so many of these gorgeous women, she came from a broken family background and was a tortured soul seeking love.

While many young women admire Supermodels, yearning to have their beauty and fame, there is a dark side to that world. If you are not strong or smart to handle it, most times, you end up used, abused and discarded.

One of my favorite models of all time is the classy beauty Karen Mulder. She has modeled for top fashion houses like Valentino, Chanel, Versace…the list goes on. A Supermodel in her own right, she rose to fame in the 90s and was up in the leagues with other Supermodels like Claudia Schiffer, Stephanie Seymour and Cindy Crawford.

Like Carre Otis, she accused Elite Models’ President Gerald Marie as one of the men who had a hand in her career for raping her. She suffers from years of chronic depression and melted into a breakdown in front of the public eye. Her attempted suicide was either a desperate cry for help or she had simply just decided to give up on a heartbreaking life of manipulation, supposed drug abuse and mental instability.

For the fame that they would find, the beauty that attracts menace and the fatal temptations they would fall prey to…being beautiful and famous can be an ugly thing. These women went through hell. Some survived it, many did not.

The world is full of predators and every woman, whether you are in the fashion industry or not, has to watch out and look after herself. Possessing beauty is a double edged sword and more often than not, it lures a darkness that will threaten to swallow you whole.

Chasing fame and fortune is a slippery slope fraught with a perilous journey. You could lose your soul to the Devil along the way. But I believe that you are not living if you do not take risks to chase your dream. Allow the danger to rush towards you but always believe that you can overcome it.

I don’t claim to know these beautiful women but when I read about their tragedy, I wonder at the pain and the things they had to go through that eventually corrupted their mind. It is a sad fact of life that you have to keep fighting no matter how bad your circumstances are. Unfortunately, defeated women like Gia just went too far down the beaten track to the point of no return.

The triumphant ones like Carre and Janice tell their shocking tale to the world, revealing that it is not all a bed of roses in a seemingly perfect world of fame, beauty and fortune. It can be right the opposite. But with positivity, a little luck and a will to survive, every woman who were once victims to the ways of the world, can continue to live an enriching life. The question is, how much do you want it?

Don’t envy another’s life. It may seem beautiful from the outside but it may also be a complete and utter mess inside.
